Replacing a Shop Board Without Closing the Shop
A switchboard changeover means the power goes off. In a house that is an inconvenience; in a tenancy with a fridge full of stock it is the whole question.
There are usually three ways to do it, and which one suits depends on the shop. The simplest is a single out-of-hours block: in before open, out before trade, power off for a few hours overnight. The second is a staged changeover, moving circuits across in groups so most of the shop stays live throughout. The third, for sites that genuinely cannot go dark, is a temporary supply feeding the critical circuits while the board is swapped.
We will tell you which of those your site needs and what each costs before you commit, because the difference between them is usually larger than the difference between two electricians’ hourly rates.
Three Ways to Do It
Out of hours, staged, or on a temporary supply. We price the one that suits the shop.
Stock Stays Cold
Refrigeration is planned for first, not discovered at the point the power goes off.
Room to Grow Left In
A new board with spare ways, so the next piece of equipment is a morning's work.
Certificate on the Day
The compliance certificate is written up on site before we leave.
