02 - Electrician in Toorak
Being the Trade That Answers the Question in the Meeting
Most electrical problems on a large renovation are not electrical problems. They are decisions that were made without an electrician in the room, and discovered later.
A lighting plan drawn for effect can need twice the circuits anyone allowed for. A basement or a lift changes the supply calculation entirely. A heritage overlay restricts where a cable can be chased and where a fitting can be surface mounted. A pool, a heat pump and two car chargers together can take a house past what single phase will do, and moving to three phase involves the distributor and a wait.
None of those are difficult if they are raised at concept stage. All of them are expensive at lock-up. So what we offer on this kind of project is early involvement and a straight answer: what the drawings will actually require, what it will cost, what has a lead time, and what we would do differently.
Then we do the work, to the builder’s programme, and certify it in time for handover.
In the Room Early
We read the drawings at concept stage, not at rough-in, and say what will not work as drawn.
Lead Times Named
Supply upgrades, three phase and specified fittings all have them. You hear about it in month one.
Heritage Constraints Allowed For
Where a cable can be chased and where it cannot, worked out before the plan depends on it.
Certified for Handover
Testing and compliance certificates done in time for occupancy rather than chased after it.
