02 - Electrician in Prahran
Electrical Work on a Street That Never Closes
A café that opens at seven cannot lose its morning. A bar that opens at five cannot lose its Friday. On Chapel Street and Commercial Road the constraint is almost never the work itself, it is the window.
We plan around that rather than asking you to. Fitouts and switchboard work go in overnight or between close and open. Kitchen and cool room circuits get tested before service, not during it. If a fault comes in mid-trade we look first at whether one circuit can be isolated so the rest of the room keeps running, and we tell you straight away if it cannot.
The flats above the shops are their own problem. They often share a switchboard or a supply with the tenancy below, which means a fault downstairs becomes a fault upstairs. Sorting out what belongs to whom is usually the first job.
Booked Outside Trading Hours
Planned work goes in overnight or before open. We agree the window before we take the job.
Kitchen and Cool Room Circuits
Dedicated supply, correct protection, and testing done before service rather than during it.
Shared Boards Sorted Out
Where a shop and the dwelling above it share a supply, we work out what is on which circuit first.
Certificate on the Day
You get the compliance certificate for the work on the same visit.

03 - About Prahran
Working Across Prahran
Prahran sits about 5 kilometres south east of the Melbourne CBD, in the City of Stonnington, and had a population of almost 13,000 at the 2016 census. The name comes from Pur-ra-ran, a Woiwurrung word derived from ‘Birrarung’, a traditional name for the nearby Yarra River.
The Chapel Street precinct running through the suburb is known for its shopping, cafés, bars and restaurants, and that is where most of our commercial work here is.
